Our take
The Rane Four is a beast of a controller. I've had mine for a few weeks, and the build quality is exactly what you'd expect from Rane tough, heavy, and reliable. The 4-channel layout is intuitive for club-style mixing, and the audio interface sounds pristine. The included soft case is a nice bonus for transport, though I'd prefer a hard case for flying. My main issue is the price $1,679 is a lot, especially since some competitors offer similar features for less. Also, the unit is quite large and heavy, so mobile DJs might find it cumbersome. But for a fixed installation or serious mobile rig, it's a fantastic workhorse. The faders are smooth, and the software integration is seamless.
